cbs reporter linda yee is there with details. linda? >> reporter: well, allen, that fire was so intense that they were still knocking down flames late this afternoon. but take a look. we also learned now that this building, the "squat & gobble" restaurant, it is so unstable now that the fire chief told me it's going to have to come down. hot spots continue to burn hours after the fire started. firefighters did not have the blaze under control until 11 hours after flames were first spotted. two buildings were destroyed. the "squat & gobble" and the wine bar next door. >> we had to go defensive on the restaurant. we had a roof collapse and had some units on the -- you can see back there that we had some problems with the roof collapsing. >> reporter: was anybody hurt? >> we have four firefighters injured. they were all mine more. >> reporter: frank owns the restaurant with his brother, who is out of town today. frank says this will break his heart. >> it's so sad. he treats his stores like babies. he does everything and has to do it right

cbs 5 reporter elissa harrington is in san francisco with more on what is at stake. good morning. >>> reporter: good morning. this case has played out for months at city hall and this decision a big deal because it could set the precedent for misconduct cases in the future. sheriff ross mirkarimi pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor relating to a domestic violence dispute that left his wife with a bruised arm on new year's eve. nine months later we could find out if he stays or if he goes for official misconduct. his wife eliana lopez showed her neighbor a bruised arm which you can see in this video after her husband grabbed her during an argument. mirkarimi was sentenced to three years' probation, fined and ordered to undergo counseling. he was also placed on unpaid leave by mayor ed lee. since then, mirkarimi has been fighting for his job. his attorney says that the marital incident has nothing to do with his role has sheriff and he was also voted in. mayor lee wants him out taking steps to permanently remove him saying that mirkarimi's guilty plea makes him unfit to ho

cbs 5 reporter sharon chin just talked to hercules police. sharon, they are saying the murder is part of a crime spree that began back in august. >>> reporter: perhaps. we're going to get to that in a second. hercules police detectives are heading to the seattle area tonight. they want to talk to the suspects to find out if there is any connection to the murder of susie ko. police found the car belonging to the 55-year-old retired teacher, who was discovered scabbed in her home friday night. in addition to the police search, her family launched a social network search for the car hoping to find her killer. detectives say they recovered her blue subaru after a chase in king county this morning. police say 24-year-old darnell washington and his wife tanya sped off after officers approached them in the parked car. when officers eventually boxed in the suspects in the subaru, the suspects allegedly kept ramming the police car until authorities arrested them at gunpoint. hercules police say right now the husband and wife are persons of interest no
